GM Electronic Referral System for Optical Practitioners

During December 2020 there is a phased transition of the Healthi referral system to the Opera IT platform as used in CUES. Primary Eyecare Services are providing the Opera platform for GM referrals.
Practices that already sub-contract with PES do not need to take any action. They will be informed by PES when the general referral module is live on their access to Opera.
Practices that do not sub-contract with PES can access the 'lite' version of the registration here:
Healthi will no longer be available after 4th January 2021

NHS Information Governance
The Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) is required for NHS Mail, Extended Services and the referral system. The website is linked below, but the DSPT can be completed and submitted through the Quality in Optometry website. There are 2 versions of the DSPT for optical practices, the full optical version required for this referral system and also for NHS Contracts/Extended Services, and a reduced subset for NHSMail purposes only. Both versions are in QiO.
